WASHINGTON HAS ALREADY DECIDED ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE ISSUE

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "Washington has already passed a resolution on US
president's recognition of the Armenian Genocide," National Academy of
Sciences' Oriental Studies Institute Director Ruben Safrastyan told a
news conference in Yerevan. "Turkey and USA are actively negotiating
Washington's recognition of the Armenian Genocide. In my opinion,
negotiations are not conducted on a high level. Correspondingly,
decisions are not taken by US and Turkey presidents," Armenian
    orientalist noted.

Ruben Safrastyan confirmed the view he expressed earlier, about US
president refraining from saying "Genocide" in his Apr. 24 address
    to US Armenians.

"Most possibly, Obama will not recognize the Armenian Genocide. In
this case Ankara will undertake specific steps towards Yerevan, but
will do it by stages. For example, Ankara might agree to establish
diplomatic relations with Yerevan, but won't open the Armenian
Embassy immediately. By following this route Ankara will try and
get as many dividends as possible. This policy will be pursued till
October meeting of the presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Abdullah Gul
in Turkey, " noted Ruben Safrastyan. According to him, in case US
president recognizes the Armenian genocide, which is almost unlikely,
"Turkey will increase it's pressure on Armenia."
