ARMENIAN RUBBER PLANT NAIRIT TO SUSPEND PRODUCTION UNTIL AUG 1 FOLLOWING ACCIDENT

    Interfax
    June 16 2009
    Russia

Armenia's Nairit Plant, the sole producer of chloroprene rubber in
Armenia and the CIS, has announced it is suspending production from
June 12 until August 1, 2009 to make repairs following an accident
at the plant, the company said in a statement.

About $200,000 is needed to eliminate the aftermath of the
accident. This amount does not include materials and equipment at
the plant that will be used to resume production.

Four people were killed and eight injured during an explosion at the
    Nairit plant on May 14.

Rhinoville Property Limited, a company set up by Polish Samex, American
Intertex and Russian Evrogaz, owns 90% of Nairit shares. The Armenian
    state has 10%.
