in Armenia. The research, conducted through the period of Apr. 20
-30, 2009, dealt with world financial crisis issues and involved
    1082 people.

The respondents were requested to assess the impact of world financial
crisis on financial situation in their families. Current estimate
shows 58 % families have felt the impact of financial crisis. Only 8%
say the crisis hasn't influenced their financial situation.

Respondents also noted the following factors, which occurred within the
last 3 months. 85% indicated price raise for products and services,
29% mentioned income decrease, 26% were subjected to job cuts, 20%
had delays in payment of salaries, pensions, scholarships.

they purchase, 12% save on rest and entertainment, 10% on cloths, 5%
and 4% on domestic appliances and utilities, and 3% on foodstuff. When
asked to assess information on financial crisis, received from
government, 66% of respondents said they believe the government
provides distorted information on economic crisis not to stir panic,
19% believe the information to be impartial, enough to get one's
bearing of current developments. 10% are of the opinion government
tends to exaggerate financial crisis consequences to distract people's
attention from other vital issues, and only 7% think the government
provides distorted information as it has developed an anti-crisis
policy and sees possibilities for its successful implementation.

Armenian Marketing Association hopes that government- implemented
projects will help Armenia avoid social shocks and turning the
country's economy into an organism on life-support needing permanent
injections in form of credits to continue its existence. The
Association believes Government's injections will be effective,
goal-oriented and will benefit Armenian economy, AMA statement said.
