The church leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia adopted a joint
declaration on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict after
    talks in Yerevan on Monday.

"The parties expressed their adherence to the peaceful settlement of
the Karabakh problem, which can be attained only if international law
is observed," Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia told the media.

The declaration conveys support for the efforts being made by the
Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Minsk Group,
    he said.

"It also calls on the conflicting parties to support the non-use of
a force regime and urges the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to
remove snipers from the frontline to prevent further fatalities,"
    Patriarch Kirill said.

"If bloodshed is stopped on the frontline, the moral atmosphere will
change, which will open up new prospects for settling the conflict,"
    the Russian patriarch said.
