    ARMENIA'S SCIENCE WILL GET 12.7 BILLION DRAMS IN FUNDING NEXT YEAR

    YEREVAN, October 30. / ARKA /. Armenia's science will get 12.7 billion
    drams in funding next year if the government-drafted 2014 budget goes
    through the parliament. Deputy finance minister Pavel Safaryan told
    a parliament discussion on the budget today that the earmarked figure
    represents an 11.3 percent rise form this year's funding.

    According to Safarian , a substantial part of the funds - 9.2 billion
    drams - will be used for basic funding, which is 67 million drams more
    than this year. Also 1.5 billion drams are earmarked for contractual
    financing.

    Also 446 million drams are set aside for additional payment to
    scientists and researchers with academic degrees, by 5 million drams
    more than this year. This community includes 770 doctors of science
    who get 20,000 drams for their degrees and 2,180 and Ph.Ds., who get
    10,000 drams.

    The government plans to collect next year 1. 134 trillion drams in
    revenue and spend 1.244 trillion drams. The projected deficit is 110
    billion drams. The GDP is projected to grow by 5.2 % and the 12-month
    inflation rate is planned at 4 % (± 1.5%) ($ 1 - 405.76 drams). .-0-
