ArmInfo. A network of sport-training centers of international level
may be created in Armenia, Director of Munich Office of McKinsey &
Co Consulting Company Andre Antonyan said during a sitting of the
Armenian National Competitiveness Fund in Yerevan. According to him,
the research shows that there are favorable premises to create such
a center in Armenia: first, good nature conditions; second, 1700 -
2000 m height above sea level, which is considered to be optimal
for sport training. To find such a height, sportsmen go to Kenya,
Brazil, etc, Antonyan said. Armenia, which is situated near Europe,
may also become an advantageous direction, he added.

To promote this field in Armenia, invitation of one or several world
famous sportsmen to training may become a good solution. If they
gain high positions at big international contests, this will at once
make Armenia famous all over the world as a good place for training,
    Antonyan said.

Preliminary talks on attracting sportsmen are currently being held,
    he added.

For his part, Chairman of the Armenian National Competitiveness
Fund Bekor Papazyan said implementation of the project may need big
amounts - for construction of sport objects, hotels and tourism
infrastructure. "It is early to specify the distinct amount,
however, according to approximate estimation, the necessary ratio
of investments of the private sector and the state is 70:30. 30%
related to the state investments, concern the first necessary step -
transport infrastructure. Without it the private sector will hardly
be the first to invest in construction of sport and tourism objects",-
    Papazyan said.
