HalaçoÄ?lu Bought Historic Documents from Russia

Former Turkish Historical Society (TTK) President Yusuf HalaçoÄ?lu held
a speech at a conference called `1909: Armenian Barbarism in Adana,'
organized by the Adana Brotherly Culture Associations Society (Adana
KardeÅ? Kültür Dernekleri TopluluÄ?u) at the theater hall of the Adana
    Metropolitan Municipality.

HalaçoÄ?lu claimed that in the 1990s he bought in 3200 documents from
Russia for 500 dollars in order to prove what Armenians did at that
    time.

HalaçoÄ?lu claimed that the Turkish Republic could propose to form a
`historical commission' thanks to those documents. `If it weren't for
these documents, the creation of this committee could not be discussed
so easily. These documents should be destroyed urgently, right after
being read. But I have bought the documents in order to expose
Armenian barbarism and to show whose tricks these are,' he said.
