Feb. 11, the delegation headed by the RA Deputy FM Arman Kirakosyan
arrived in Der Zor, Syria.
The officials were hosted by Der Zor Governor Hussain Arnous and
acting Secretary of al-Baath Party Branch Taha al-Khalifa. The parties
signified solemn opening of RA honorary consulate in Der Zor, RA FM
Press Service informed NEWS.am. A new RA honorary consul is appointed
Suren Vardanyan, local citizen.
Same day sanctification of the RA national flag in Armenian Der Zor
Armenian Genocide Memorial Church was held. The ceremony was attended
by three pastors, as well as provincial officials and Syrian community
representatives. RA Deputy FM Arman Kirakosyan, RA Ambassador in Syria
Arshak Poladyan and Der Zor Governor Hussain Arnous delivered speeches.
After the ceremony the attendees headed to the RA Consular
representation office.
