  • Armenian GDP May Exceed The Projected 1.2% Growth This Year To Reach

ARMENIAN GDP MAY EXCEED THE PROJECTED 1.2% GROWTH THIS YEAR TO REACH 2%: IMF.

    ARKA
    Feb 12, 2010

YEREVAN, February 12, /ARKA/. Mark Lewis, who headed an IMF
delegation's visit to Armenia, said in an interview with a local daily
Kapital that Armenian GDP may exceed the projected 1.2% growth this
    year to reach 2%.

He described, however, the government's projection as 'quite real.'
According to IMF's 'Prospects for the Global and Regional Economy'
report, the global economy will grow this year by 3.9%, and by 4.3%
    in 2011.

According to Mark Lewis, Armenian inflation is forecasted at 6.8%.

"However our inflation forecasts are not complete because it is
difficult to say how much it will grow this year,' he said adding that
it depends on such factors as demand, national currency's exchange
    rates and fuel prices.
