The Armenian former prime minister, member of the Armenian National
Congress Hrant Bagratyan says the government, the head of ArmRusGasArd
and the head of the Public Services Regulatory commission give
senseless explanations in relation to the gas price enhancement. Hrant
Bagratyan noted that five years ago gas was imported at 110 dollar and
now it costs 180 which in terms of dram is the same. But the company
sells it at a doubly higher price. Bagratyan says that ArmRusGasArd
is to explain its expenditures.
Bagratyan dwelt on the fact that the government allocated to the
company 40 million from the Russian loan and wonders how it happens
that the country gives a loan from the loan taken from another country.
According to Bagratyan, they try to mislead people when saying
that Russia increased the price by 17 percent. Russia, in reality,
increased the price by 7 percent.
Bagratyan says that the government does not dare to talk to the
ArmRusGasArd leadership. Besides all, there is a question on the
quality of the gas and the state has the right to set a standard.
According to him, the state is afraid of transparency as everything
will be revealed.
Hrant Bagratyan noted that as a result of the outrageous policy of
the Central Bank, ArmRusGasArd registered an income of 200 percent.
Hrant Bagratyan again raised the question on two cement factories
saying that it is impermissible to give gas free of charge to those
factories instead of subsidizing the population.
