NEW YORK - The Permanent Mission of Armenia to the UN in New York is
preparing to resume its summer internship program, which will begin on
July 5 and continue until July 22 at the Permanent Mission building in
    New York City.

The Mission hopes to build off the success of last year, when it
launched the internship program for the first time. `Last year's
interns were dedicated and professional, providing valuable extra
hands and minds to the critical role of the mission in representing
Armenia's interests,' said Armenia's Ambassador to the UN Garen
Nazarian. Intern responsibilities include attending meetings with the
Mission's staff, preparing reports, and conducting research on UN
activities as it relates to Armenia, its neighbors, and other nations
    in the region.

To gain an overview of Armenia's international relations, interns will
attend lectures and seminars about the role and mandate of the UN and
the Armenian Mission, and the geo-political challenges facing Armenia.

The Eastern Region office of the Armenian National Committee of
America (ANCA) will facilitate the last week of the internship program
from July 25-29, and will administer the educational portion of the
internship. `By working with passionate and thoughtful Armenian youth,
we are looking to develop leaders, who will bring political
sophistication to the international arena,' said Garo Manjikian, the
executive director of the ANCA Eastern Region.

Applications to the internship are available on line at
anca.org/UnInternship and must be submitted by May 20. Interns coming
from outside the New York metropolitan area will be granted free
housing during the four-week duration of the program.
