YEREVAN. - If Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), opposition Armenian
National Congress (ANC) and ARF Dashnakstutyun decide to be united
during the presidential elections next year, then it may be possible
that they agree on nominating one joint candidate, which theoretically
may be Armenia's second President Robert Kocharyan, political
scientist Alexander Markarov told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to an opinion, the PAP and the ANC jointly move forward
interests of one power, and Markarov believes that it may be
Kocharyan. At the same time, the political scientist said that the
PAP, the ANC and the ARFD may come to an agreement on Kocharyan issue.

`As a matter of fact, the PAP has four options: nominating own
candidate, uniting with other political powers and nominating a joint
candidate, agreeing with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA)
about rejection of nominating own candidate, or supporting the RPA
candidate. Depending on the choice of the PAP, it will be possible to
forecast further development of situation,' Markarov concluded.

As the agency informed earlier, former ANC member David Shahnazaryan
has stated in an interview with the Zhamanak newspaper that the
triplet PAP, ANC and ARFD form the main institute of supporting
    Kocharyan.
