GOVERNMENT OF ARMENIA TURNS DOWN REQUEST OF LUSAKERT BIOGAS PLANT CJSC TO DELAY VALUE-ADDED TAX PAYMENT

During today's session, the Government of Armenia turned down
the request of Lusakert Biogas Plant CJSC to delay the payment of
    value-added tax on equipment importation.

Armenian Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan presented the draft decision.

He said that the equipment was imported in 2008, and the Government
cannot take a decision behindhand. In addition, in April the
Government supported this company and made a decision on prolongation
of the customs regime of temporary import for 6 months - till 1 April
2012. "I think it is enough for the company to implement its program",
    the minister said.

Earlier the minister said that the program on biogas production was
implemented jointly with the Government of Denmark and the program
    aimed to resolve environmental problems.

To recall, Armenia launched Lusakert Biogas Plant CJSC in October
2008. Over the past four years the plant reduced the atmospheric
emissions by 37,000 tons CO2 and supplied the Electric Networks of
Armenia CJSC with 9,000 MW of electric power.

It was reported then that the largest shareholders of Lusakert Biogas
Plant were the Lusakert Pedigree Poultry Plant LLC, Vekst Foundation
(Norway), the Danish Carbon Fund and BIGADAN (Denmark).
