Hovik Abrahamyan received Vice-President of the Federal Republic of
Germany's Bundestag Wolfgang Thierse on October 1. As information
and public relations department informed Armenpress , NA speaker
high estimated Armenian-German relations current level, stating
political dialogue with Germany is characterized by bilateral and
multilateral formats.In this context Abrahamyan underscored the boost
of inter-parliamentary ties, the necessity of mutual visits, meetings,
and activities of parliamentary friendship groups.
Vice-President of Bundestag also highlighted the need to develop
inter-parliamentary cooperation stressing Germany Parliament is deeply
concerned to deepen and strengthen cooperation with Armenia. Germany
high ranking official considered the activation of direct contacts
essential aimed at forming right perceptions among Armenian and
Germany MPs on the problems region faces.
Both sides stressed the importance of international scholarship
program sponsored by the Bundestag and its further continuation. In the
course of the meeting issues pertain to Armenian internal political
situation as well as other issues of mutual interest were touched
upon by the sides.
