KARABAKH WILL BE RECOGNIZED SOONER OR LATER : NKR FM
STEPANAKERT, June 24./ARKA/. Karabakh will be recognized as an
independent republic sooner or later, Karen Mirzoyan, Foreign Minister
of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, said in the interview with Marseilles
regional newspaper "La Provence."
"We are building the society based on democratic values and free
market, even though the isolation is hindering this process. Human
rights should prevail over the rest, and we get a doze of optimism
as we believe the rights of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh will
be recognized through recognizing NKR sooner or later," Mirzoyan
highlighted.
The newspaper articles states the City Hall of Les Pennes-Mirabeau
held a reception in honor of Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh that
fought for independence in the late 80s after the collapse of the USSR.
The officials signed the Declaration of Friendship between Les
Pennes-Mirabeau and Karabakh town Martuni.
"This declaration has some symbolic meaning. Nagorno-Karabakh has its
own culture and seeks to obtain a legal right to build its statehood.
We completely support Karabakh movement for self-determination. It
inspires, and Les Pennes-Mirabeau will welcome all the events
contributing to recognition of Martuni's and Nagorno-Karabakh's
culture," said Michel Amiel, Mayor of Les Pennes-Mirabeau, at the
reception.
He handed over a commemorative medal of Les Pennes-Mirabeau to NKR
Foreign Minister.
Within the framework of the declaration, it is planned to enhance
the cooperation between Les Pennes-Mirabeau and Martuni in different
spheres. Michel Amiel, on his side, promised to pay his first visit to
Nagorno-Karabakh if he wins the municipal election in 2014, according
to the article. -0-
