Hrank Dink Foundation offers short film program on conscience

    6 January 2014 /Ä°STANBULI TODAY'S ZAMAN

A selection of short films that have been included in the 2013 `Vicdan
Filmleri' (Films about Conscience) international short film project,
organized by the foundation of slain Armenian-Turkish journalist Hrant
Dink, will be screened next week at the Ä°stanbul Amateur Photographers
and Cinematographers Association (Ä°FSAK) building in BeyoÄ?lu.

A total of 21 films with the theme of conscience have been included in
the final list of the project, which initially saw 38 entries from
Turkey and abroad in the 2013 edition. These films will be shown at
the Ä°FSAK on Jan. 16. A judging panel consisting of the jury members
Ahmet BoyacıoÄ?lu, Cem Mansur, Petros Markaris, Rakel Dink, Susanna
Harutyunyan, Thomas Balkenhol and YeÅ?im UstaoÄ?lu, announced the
complete list of films on the international Human Rights Day on Dec.
    10.

The short films on the list will be collected in a DVD and suggested
to international film festivals, according to the website of the Hrank
Dink Foundation. Launched in 2009, the "Films about Conscience"
project was inspired by the words of the late journalist, who said:
`The voice of conscience has been sentenced to silence. Now, that
conscience is searching for a way out.'

The program at Ä°FSAK, located at Ä°stiklal Cad. Ayhan IÅ?ık Sok. No:32/2
in BeyoÄ?lu, starts at 7:30 p.m. For the entire film list and updates,
