UAE authorities to extradite Armenian gang of four

    Amira Agarib / 2 March 2014

The Dubai Police's operation room received information of the crime
that took place in a building near the Gold Souq in January.

The UAE legal authorities are in the process of extraditing an
Armenian gang of four who fled the country after killing an Indian
employee of a trading company in Dubai and robbing gold and diamonds
    worth millions of dirhams.

The Dubai Police identified the gang within a few hours and alerted
the Armenian authorities, who arrested them and recovered the stolen
valuables after they landed in their home country.

The Dubai Police's operation room received information of the crime
that took place in a building near the Gold Souq in January. A
24-year-old Indian woman informed the police that her 25-year-old
husband, who had a trade office in a residential area, had not come
back from his workplace and also did not respond to her phone calls
even though he was supposed to return home at 9.30pm.

The police rushed to the man's office which was located on the second
floor and found the lights switched on. On entering the office the
police saw the man's body lying on the ground with his hands and legs
tied up and his mouth taped. They also found his face covered in
blood. Primary investigations revealed that the man was beaten before
    being killed.

On examining the crime scene the police found the office safe was
busted. The police formed a team and launched an investigation to
solve the mystery death. The owner of the trading company, who was in
India at that time, told the police that some Armenians -- who claimed
to be traders -- had visited their office to buy gold and diamonds.

The police after finding out that two Armenians A.S and H.M. had left
the country early morning acted promptly by alerting the Armenian
security officials, who arrested them. The Dubai Public Prosecution is
investigating the case to take necessary action.
