ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 29 -- Karen Gasparyan and Patvakan Hakhinyan,
both of Yerevan, Armenia, have developed a method and an apparatus
    for clamping a work piece.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The apparatus
generally includes a stationary jaw with a first clamping surface and a
moveable jaw with a second clamping surface connected and operated by a
spindle. The spindle moves the stationary jaw and moveable jaw toward
each other when rotated in one direction. The spindle disengages the
stationary jaw when rotated in the opposite direction, thus allowing
for rapid adjustment of the apparatus."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,036,807 on May 2.

The patent has been assigned to Industrial Technologies Co. LLC,
    Yerevan.

The original application was filed on
April 12, 2005, and is available at:
