TURKISH PM ASKS OBAMA TO PREVENT HOUSE VOTE ON ARMENIAN KILLINGS

The White House Bulletin
December 20, 2010 Monday

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told his parliament today that
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sent a letter to President
Obama asking him to prevent a House vote declaring World War I-era
killings of Armenians a genocide. Davutoglu warned that a vote would
endanger US-Turkish relations, saying, "We cannot allow the resolution
to hang over Turkish-US ties like a Sword of Damocles."
