BALANCE OF POPULATION'S DEPOSITS ATTRACTED BY ARMENIAN BANKS GROWS BY 24.2% IN ONE YEAR

YEREVAN, APRIL 5, NOYAN TAPAN. According to preliminary data of the
Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), as of February 28, 2007, the monetary
base made 258 bln 404 mln drams (about 710.9 mln USD), growing by 3
bln 472 mln drams or 1.4% on the previous month.
As of February 28, 2007, the broad money made 469 bln 654 mln drams,
growing by 9 bln 670 mln drams or 2.1% on the previous month.
The balance of the population's deposits attracted by the banks made
126 bln 103 mln drams as of February 28, 2007, growing by 4 bln 182
mln drams or 3.4% on the previous month, and by 24 bln 531 mln drams
or 24.2% on the same day of last year.
