UNESCO TO INCLUDE ARMENIAN MONUMENTS OF IRAN'S ATRPATAKAN IN ITS LIST OF HISTORICAL MONUMENTS

TEHRAN, APRIL 16, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The UNESCO adopted
a package on Armenian monuments of Iran's Atrpataknn with the aim
of including them in the list of monuments considered a universal
legacy. For this purpose UNESCO experts will go to Iran in order to
examine these historical monuments and present a report on their state.
The package on Armenian monuments was prepared at the Center of
Historical Churches of Iran. According to the center director Shirley
Avetian, St Tadevos Monastery, St Stepanos Monastery and Tsortsor
Church are the most imported monuments of the package.
