WILL BUSH PRONOUNCE WORD "GENOCIDE" IN HIS APRIL 24 ADDRESS?

ANKARA, APRIL 24, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. U.S. President George
Bush will made his annual speech-address on April 24, on the occasion
of the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, in front of the Armenians
    living in America.

Ankara seems to wait with bated breath for Bush's speech. But one
must mention that the Turkish press, in the person of Milliyet, not
waiting for future development of the cases, started spreading opinions
about the issue that "it is possible that the word "genocide" will
not be pronounced by Bush this year as well." The Los Angeles Times
newspaper expressed such a preconceived opinion. By the way, to recap,
an interview given by American Congressman George Radanovich, speaking
for adoption of the resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide was
also involved in the same publication of the newspaper. The latter,
expressing a confidence that the Armenian draft will be adopted, said:
"The Turkish Government will first of all counteract, and in 3 months
will adjust itself to that decision."

The Turkish Milliyet also touched upon the addresses made by
U.S. Presidents on April 24 of every year since 1994 and wrote that
the word "genocide" was used in no message of any of them. President
Bush qualified in his address of the last year the events taken
place in 1915 as "one of the most terrible tragedies of the 20th
century." But, as the newspaper mentions, Armenians are not pleased
    with such statements.
