RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan met Vice President of Iran,
Chairman of the Organization on Physical Culture Mohammad Aliabadi.
As RA FM's press-service told ArmInfo, during the meeting, V. Oskanyan
highly appreciated the good- neighbourly relations between the
two countries and noted that periodic meetings of top officials of
Armenia and Iran impart new quality to the Armenian-Iranian political,
economic and cultural relations. The minister especially emphasized
the regardful attitude of the Iranian authorities to the Armenian
community that, in its turn, is a pledge of development of bilateral
partnership in all the spheres. For his part, M. Aliabadi emphasized
the necessity of deepening the sport cooperation between the two
countries. He thinks that the Memorandum on understanding, signed
during his visit to Yerevan by the Ministry of Sports and Youth and
the Organization of Physical Education of Iran, is an important step
in this direction.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the issues concerned
with bilateral contacts in sports, having attached importance to
the experience and information exchange. Moreover, the interlocutors
expressed confidence that prosperous joint programmes will be developed
due the consistent work of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the
Organization of Physical Education of Iran.
