RAFFI HOVANNISIAN SENDS CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF TURKEY

YEREVAN, AUGUST 29, NOYAN TAPAN. The leader of the "Zharangutyun"
("Heritage") party Raffi Hovannisian on August 29 sent a congratulatory
message to the newly elected president of Turkey Abdullah Gul, NT
was informed by the party's press service.
The message in particular reads:
"I hope that during your term of office, as well as the term of office
of the new Armenian president to be elected in the near future, the
Turkish-Armenian relations will enter a qualitatively new stage of
study, identification and final regulation. All this may happen not
only thanks to high political science and creative diplomacy but also
through sincere bilateral examination of the future - based on a bold
and unprecedented admission of History... The deep abysses between our
states - both of modern nature and as a result of the sad legacy of
Great Homeland Deprivation - must be overcome and solved by means of
the truth and straightforwardness, through goodwill of the two newly
elected presidents and cooperation of fellow-citizens interested."
