NICOLAS BURNS CONFIDENT THE KARABAKH ISSUE WILL BE SOLVED IN A PEACEFUL WAY

US Under-Secretary of State Nicolas Burns told journalists Thursday
that he is confident the Karabakh issue will be solved in a peaceful
way, Interfax report.
Burns noted that "the US has been launching an intensive activity
directed at the Karabakh conflict settlement within the framework of
the OSCE Minsk Group."
Turning to the meeting of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs with the Foreign
Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the US Under-Secretary of State
said "it was a very important meeting."
"For 15 years we have been working in the direction of conflict
settlement, and I t is a good example of how Russia, France and the
United States can solve conflicts with joint effort," Mr. Burns added.
