    ARMENIAN AND ESTONIAN FOREIGN MINISTRIES TO COOPERATE IN EUROPEAN INTEGRATION ISSUES

    TALLINN, DECEMBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian,
    who is in Estonia on a working visit, met with Estonian Foreign
    Minister Urmas Paet on December 4.

    Greeting the RA Foreign Minister, U. Paet said that Estonia is
    interested in strengthening and developing bilateral relations in
    different spheres for even more. In his turn, V. Oskanian assured of
    Armenia's readiness to deepen cooperation with Estonia in all spheres,
    especially taking into consideration the current potential, the two
    peoples' historic ties and sympathy to each other.

    During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the possibilities of
    activizing economic cooperation, mentioning information technologies
    and tourism as primary spheres. Expansion of legal-contractual
    field between the two countries was also mentioned as important,
    as it will contribute to deepening and activization of bilateral
    contacts. They also touched upon cooperation between the two countries
    at international organizations.

    During the meeting, thoughts about regional developments, relations
    with Armenia's neighbor states were also exchanged. At the request of
    his Estonian counterpart, V. Oskanian presented the current process
    of Nagorno Karabakh settlement.

    The ceremony of signing a memorandum On Cooperation between RA and
    Estonian Foreign Ministries in European Integration Issues and a
    joint press conference followed the meeting.

    According to the report provided to Noyan Tapan by the RA Foreign
    Ministry Press and Information Department, the same day V. Oskanian
    also met with Kristina Ojuland, the First Deputy Chairwoman of
    Estonian Parliament, as well as representatives of Armenian community
    of Estonia.
