  • According To Chairman Of Ramkavar-Azatakan Party Of Armenia, Armenia

ACCORDING TO CHAIRMAN OF RAMKAVAR-AZATAKAN PARTY OF ARMENIA, ARMENIAN PEOPLE HAS ALWAYS PERSECUTED ITS HEROES

    Dec 03 2007

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, NOYAN TAPAN. Some Armenian media ahead of schedule
have decided what politician's candidature the Ramkavar-Azatakan Party
of Armenia uniting with the Dashink and National Revival parties
will support in the forthcoming presidential elections. However,
as Haroutiun Arakelian, the Chairman of the Ramkavar-Azatakan Party
of Armenia, said at the December 3 press conference, according
to party's Regulations, that issue will be decided at the regular
congress. And before that he advised journalists to refrain from
    pre-term conclusions.

The Chairman of the Ramkavar-Azatakan Party of Armenia called
media representatives for not making public "not serious" materials
containing personal insult, in particular, about Dashink's Chairman
Samvel Babayan. H. Arakelian, in particular, touched upon the article
published in the Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper lately, according to
which a number of Dashink's members have torn their party membership
cards due to not receiving payment by S. Babayan for months, being
    deceited in political issues.

Declaring that the party "is not a place of receiving payment," the
Chairman of the Ramkavar-Azatakan Party of Armenia said that such
materials are published in opposition press only because S. Babayan
does not wish to be involved in the political struggle proceeding
between the authorities and the first President. According to
    H. Arakelian, in general, the Armenian people has always persecuted
its heroes: "at first the people idealizes them, then starts rummaging,
until it sees that they also have shortcomings like ordinary people."
