IRI to conduct exit poll during Armenian presidential elections

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan and U.S. Chargé
d´Affairs Joseph Pennington discussed the presidential elections due
in Armenia February 19, 2008.
Mr Pennington informed that the International Republican Institute
will conduct exit poll during the elections. `The outcomes of the exit
poll will be submitted to political forces for further promulgation,'
he said.
For his part, Serge Sargsyan underscored that such a survey is a good
way to avoid unwarranted speculation after announcement of the
results. `If not the IRI's initiative, we would invite a similar
organization to conduct exit polls,' the Prime Minister said, the RA
government's press office reported.
