BELARUS WINS JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

Alexey Zhigalkovich from Belarus won the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song
Contest with the song S Druzyami (With Friends).
The vote saw fierce competition between Belarus and Armenia. The
Armenian Arevik group took a lead at first but the gap between Belarus
and Armenia was narrowing fast in the second part of the voting. By
awarding 12 points to Belarus, Lithuania cemented the victory for
our country.
Representatives of 17 countries took part in the 2007 Junior
Eurovision Song Contest. This is the second time that the Eurovision
winner has come from Belarus. The first winner was Kseniya Sitnik in
2005. Belarusian Andrei Kunets took the second place in 2006.
