GIFT OF KOMITAS QUARTET TO SARGIS ASLAMAZYAN

Tomorrow Komitas Quartet will stage a concert at the Chamber Music
House after Komitas. The group will perform Komitas, Aslamazyan,
Shostakovich.
The art head of the quartet, Edward Tadevosyan, told a news conference
today that the concert is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of famous
violin player Sargis Aslamazyan. Tomorrow, the presentation of the
quartet's DVD will also take place. Deputy Culture Minister Karine
Khodikyan said that after the concert Edward Tadevosyan will be awarded
with the golden medal of the culture ministry for his contributions
in the music art and also in relation to his 60th birthday. Several
musicians of the group will also be awarded with gold medals.
Komitas quartet was established in 1924. In 1932, the government
awarded the quartet with high name of Komitas.
