"NOR ZHAMANAKNER" AND "ORINATS YERKIR" PARTIES CONDEMN ASSAULT AGAINST OPPOSITION MASS MEDIA OUTLET

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. "By creating an atmosphere of fear
in the country by the use of brutal force and oppressing the opposition
forces and mass media, the criminal regime that has usurped power will
try to reproduce itself by all means through rigging at the upcoming
presidential electins.
Naturally, no dissidence or criticism are tolerated on this path,"
is said in the December 13 statement of the "Nor Zhamanakner" ("New
Times") party board, in which the party responds to the fact of the
explosion in the editorial office of the "Fourth Power" opposition
newspaper the day before.
"New Times" condemns the assault against the "Fourth Power",
considering it as another manifestation of political vandalism,"
the statement reads.
On the same day the PR office of nomination of the chairman of the
"Orinats Yerkir" ("Country of Law") party Artur Baghdasarian also
issued a statement, which in particular reads: "We condemn this
act of violence against the editorial office of the "Fourth Power"
newspaper, consequently - against the mass media, and we call on
the law enforcement bodies to cobduct an objective and comprehensive
investigation".
