TARIFFS FOR TECHNICAL INSPECTION OF TRANSPORT MEANS TO BE ESTABLISHED BY RA PUBLIC SERVICES REGULATORY COMMISSION

    Noyan Tapan
    Dec 12 2007

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. At the December 17 special session,
the RA National Assembly adopted in the first reading the bill on
establishment and reconsideration of tariffs for provision of services
on mandatory technical inspection of transport means.

According to the main speaker, the RA minister of transport and
communication Andranik Manukian, this legislative initiative of the
government is conditioned by the fact that starting from January 1,
2008, technical inspection of transport means will be carried out by
private companies. In order to exclude the possibility of establishing
unfoundedly high tariffs by these companies, the government proposes
that the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission should establish
the tariffs of provision of technical inspection services.

So far 31 companies (10 in Yerevan and 21 in marzes) have received
the right to carry out technical inspection of transport means.
