ONE HUNDRED DAYS OF OFFICE OF BAKO SAHAKYAN

One hundred days after inauguration President Bako Sahakyan did
not hold a traditional news conference. Bako Sahakyan only held an
interview with the Azat Artsakh Newspaper in which he emphasized that
he is against cheating and robbing people.

Nevertheless, the news conference was necessary. The tradition of
holding a news conference on the hundredth day did not appear from
    out of nowhere.

During it the president elect may convey to reporters and through
them to the society his evaluation of the current situation and plans
    for future.

It is bad that for the prime minister and the members of government
whose one hundredth day will be later it will be inconvenient to
hold a news conference. Nevertheless, we cite part of the interview
of Bako Sahakyan with the Azat Artsakh.

"There are a number of projects for the immediate solution of which
conditions were created, therefore I will enumerate the significant
    ones.

Firstly, during the meetings with major business owners in Moscow
we took this track. We refused to accept the money, in return we
asked to implement definite programs, such as the construction
o the Republic hospital. Or the large-scale project of the dairy
factory which involves apart from all installation of refrigerators
in several parts of the country to collect milk later to transport to
Stepanakert. Secondly, the project of 24-hour water supply in the lower
part of the capital, water will flow from the village Krasni. Thirdly,
we have already talked about the effort of the minister of culture in
Shushi to foster the reconstruction the town as soon as possible. I
would like to add that we are considering moving some other agencies
besides the ministry of culture to have this resort town, a cultural
and educational center in the 19th century, regain its role in the
life of Armenians. Otherwise, the delegations including from Baku ask
righteously why we haven't reconstructed at least half of it within
the past 15 years if Shushi is dear to us. In brief, we have prepared
the solution of most vital problems.

Finally, I want to tell about the most important efforts. Changes and
replacements in the public administration are not an end in itself, and
are not just "mechanical" replacements, one with another, inconvenient
with convenient, opponents with friends. The new appointments are a
means of reaching the goal. The goal is to improve the work of all
the ministries of agencies. The start has been given. It will continue
intensively, until we get rid of everything negative.

To be more clear to your readers, I will put it this way: to eliminate
lie from our life we must start eliminating it from the activities
of the government. From transport, construction companies, public
purchase to the new mechanism of activities of courts, the office of
prosecutor general, the police, the tax and other services, everything
should be free from lies. We will not be confined to declarations like
"it should be". As a president who took an oath on the Bible to serve
the country and people I must fulfill what was planned and pledged
to people. I would even say more: not because I pledged people but
because otherwise we cannot strengthen Artsakh, bolster up morale in
people, offset the advantages of the foe.

However, not everyone realizes the complications, therefore success
    is slow.

We often hear if we demand strictly from officials and businessmen,
many will leave Karabakh. Let them have a nice trip, I say, we do
not need parasites on the state. Their stay is more harmful to us
    than their departure.

Nobody minds their making profit, but they should remain in a decent
and fair framework. They should realize that making money at the
expense of others and the state is sin, especially in the difficult
    situation we are.

I will reach my goal. Otherwise, I should not have been elected
    president."
