    95% OF ARMENIAN ROADS OF INTERSTATE IMPORTANCE MEET INTERNATIONAL
    STANDARDS

    YEREVAN, DECEMBER 27, NOYAN TAPAN. 95% of the country's motorways of
    interstate importance currently meet international standards, the RA
    minister of transport and communication Andranik Manukian stated at the
    December 27 press conference. According to him, state budgetary
    allocations for repairs of Armenian roads are increasing year by year.
    In particular, road sections of the total length of 280 km have
    undergone major repair this year with state budgetary resources of 24.6
    billion drams, a new 6.3-km Voskepar-Baghanis road has been
    constructed, and 15 bridges have been repaired.

    A. Manukian said that under the Millennium Challenge Program, it is
    envisaged to repair rural roads of the total length of 273 km in
    2008-2009, on which 61 million dollars will be spent. Rural roads of
    the total length of 223 km will be repaired with 30.6 million dollars
    to be provided by the Asian Development Bank.
