    ARMENIA, MICROSOFT SIGN COOPERATION ACCORD

Yerevan, 31 January: The Armenian government and the Microsoft
Corporation have signed an agreement on cooperation.

The agreement was signed by Armenian Minister of Trade and Economic
Development Karen Chshmarityan and Microsoft President Bill Gates in
Edinburgh on 30 January, Mediamax reports.

According to the agreement, Microsoft will implement investment,
educational and innovation programmes in Armenia aimed at the further
development of the IT sphere. Specifically, Microsoft plans to
establish its innovation centre in Armenia.

The Armenian delegation, headed by Karen Chshmarityan, left for
Scotland on 29 January at the invitation of Microsoft to participate
in the Government Leaders' Forum Europe.

The agreement on cooperation between the Armenian government and
Microsoft was reached in September 2006 during a meeting between the
Armenian prime minister and the Microsoft vice-president in Yerevan
within the framework of the Information Technology Month.
