RA NSS: AZERI LEADERSHIP'S ACTIONS RESEMBLE BOULEVARD DETECTIVE
`'The Azerbaijani authorities seem to be seriously anxious about a
statement made December 20, 2006, according to which a current
Azerbaijani agent was detected and convicted, so they have decided to
take a retaliatory move, which resembles a boulevard detective'', RA
National Security Service's statement runs. The document refers to
the arrest of Jamal Khalilov, who, according to the Azeri special
services, cooperated with the Armenian party.
`'According to the information provided by the Azerbaijani propaganda
machine, Ariz Jamal Ogli Khalilov, a dweller of the Sadakhlo village
situated in Georgia's Marneuli region, who was allegedly cooperating
with RA special services, was arrested and convicted `'for espionage
and preparation of the terrorist acts within a conspiratorial
group''. The sphere of Jamal Ogli's activity has been presented
widely, maybe, taking into consideration his `'exclusive
capabilities'': beginning with carrying out `'small missions'' up to
wide-scale terrorism. Trying to make their hero all-mighty, the
scenario's authors impute to him the preparation of explosion in a
huge oil infrastructure, then in the Baku Metro, and in the end, for
some reason, they confine themselves to a trade centre. The
fabrications of the kind are aimed at making illusion of the
efficient work being carried out by the Azerbaijani special
services'', RA NSS statement reads.
