ARTHUR AGHABEKYAN: WE NEVER INTENDED TO HAVE THE MILITARY REFORMS SERVE NATO MEMBERSHIP

Armenia has never had the target to have the military reforms serve the
idea of joining NATO, RA Deputy defense Minister, Lieutenant-General
Arthur Aghabekyan declared today during the seminar on defense reforms
organized jointly with the George C. Marshall European Center for
Security Studies.
According to Arthur Aghabekyan, Armenia is leading a complementary
polity, which finds its expression also in the defense sphere. We make
the cooperation with both NATO and CTO serve the further modernization
of the defense complex and resistance to threats. "No such issue will
be discussed either today or in the near future," said the Deputy
Foreign Minister.
