RA MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE: ARMENIA PREPARED TO FIGHT AGAINST BIRD FLU
YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. Armenia is prepared to fight
against bird flu, a widespread disease in the world. The RA Minister
of Agriculture Davit Lokian told this to reporters on February
23. According to him, today the danger of bird flu's penetration into
Armenia is quite high because it has been found in neighboring
countries. D. Lokian attached special importance to preventive
measures. "I hope that no case of bird flu will be registered in
Armenia this year either," he noted. The minister added that a ban was
imposed on the import of poultry into Armenia from all countries where
bird flu cases have been registered.
