SPECIAL SESSION OF RA NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ENDS ON FEBRUARY 22
YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. On February 22 the RA National
Assembly finished the work of its special session, concluding over
50-issue agenda in 3 days. The votes of bills discussed on the last
day were postponed until the regular four-day session to be convened
on February 26. According to the NA Speaker Tigran Torosian, an
agreement to postpone these votes was reached with the prime minister
as it was the government that initiated the special session. Among the
discussed issues was the package of amendments and additions in the RA
Law on Citizenship and several other laws, which in particular
includes provisions on dual citizenship, as well as the draft
amendments and additions to the NA rules of procedure with the aim of
bringing these rules into line with constitutional amendments and
eliminating the existing shortcomings.
