CEREMONY OF SENDING OFF NEXT GROUP OF PEACEMAKERS TO IRAQ TOOK PLACE IN
YEREVAN
Yerevan, January 27. ArmInfo. The ceremony of sending off the fifth
group of peacemakers to Iraq took place in Yerevan's regiment.
Lieutenant-General Arthur Aghabekyan, the Deputy Defence Minister of
Armenia, reminded that Armenia has participated in the peacemaking
mission in Iraq for 3 years. According to him, the previous four
groups of Armenian peacemakers have deserved an image of a good
partner. A.Aghabekyan considers that this also raises Armenia's
authority and contributes to the country's integration into
international structures. He also pointed out some qualitative changes
in the peacemaking group, particularly, the number of army doctors has
increased.
To note, the group of Armenian peacemakers leaves for Iraq today. The
previous group will return to Armenia in early February.
