COMMERCIALS ABOUT ARMENIA TO BE BROADCAST BY EURONEWS CHANNEL FROM
APRIL
YEREVAN, JANUARY 31, NOYAN TAPAN. 250 mln drams (about 694 thousand
USD) has been allocated to the tourism sector by the 2007 RA state
budget, and this sum will be used to promote the Armenian tourism in
the world. The RA Deputy Minister of Trade and Economic Development
Ara Petrosian told NT correspondent about this.
In his words, this year CNN will continue demonstrating two
commercials on Armenia. The Armenian Tourism Development Agency (ATDA)
and tour operators will again participate in international tourism
exhibitions. The deputy minister said that it is envisaged to continue
the implementation of the program aimed at the sector's development in
Tsakhkadzor.
According to Mekhak Apresian, Head of the ministry's Tourism
Department, "Euronews" television channel will start broadcasting
commercials about Armenia from April. He noted that so far private
tourism companies have not received state financing in
Armenia. "Limited resources from the state budget are mainly used to
form the image of Armenia, which is also beneficial for the private
sector of tourism industry: the state aims to advertise Armenia and
present it as an attractive tourism place on the international
market," M. Apresian said.
