AZERBAIJAN'S PRESS COUNCIL IS CONCERNED THAT THE MEDIA WILL ALLOCATE LARGE PLACE TO INSULT INTELLECTUALS VISITING NAGORNO-KARABAKH

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Chairman of the
Press Council of Azerbaijan, Aflatun Amashov, said that the meeting
of the Executive Board of the Press Council of Azerbaijan focused on
the recent visit of the Azerbaijani intellectuals to Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Chairman of the Council is concerned that the media sources which
light the position of the visit protesters will not follow ethical
principles. The Council considers it inadmissible to allocate large
place in the newspapers and websites for articles insulting the visit
participants. "We consider that Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts is a global
problem. Therefore, the visit of the Azerbaijani intellectuals is also
analyzed and assessed outside the Country. The approach of the foreign
experts to the conflict will depend on our approach," Amashov said.
The delegation of Azerbaijani and Armenian intellectuals chaired
visited Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia. The delegation arrived in
Shusha, as well as met with Arkadi Gukasan, the head of Armenian
separatists and also with the President of Armenia, Robert Kocharan, in
Khankandi. The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, also received the
delegation in Baku. Kamal Abdulla, the member of the Press Council's
Department, was also amongst the Azerbaijani delegation.
