"ONE SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID OF BECOMING ONE NATION AND TWO COUNTRIES," NKR REPRESENTATIVE AND MEMBER OF WORLD ARMENIAN CONGRESS BELIEVES

    Noyan Tapan
    Jul 11 2007

YEREVAN, JULY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. Lusine Andreasian, who lives in Moscow
and is a member of the World Armenian Congress and is currently in
her native country for the purpose of taking part in the two-day
conference of the World Aremnian Congress, is led by the following
slogan: "We are strong when we are united." According to her, this
initiative of the Armenian Congress is a great step towards uniting
Armenian young people, who live in all corners of the world as well
as towards their becoming more acquainted with their native language,
history, as well as their native country.

During the conversation with a Noyan Tapan correspondent
Norayr Hovsephian, a representative of the "Generation of Haik"
non-governmental youth organization of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh
and a member of the World Armenian Congress, mentioned that "general
    problems need general solutions."

According to him, Armenian universal problems are the following:
fair solutions should be found for the Karabakh issue and the Armenian
cause. In addition to this, according to Norayr Hovsephian, the youth
of Nagorno Karabakh do not see any other variant of the Karabakh
conflict settlement except one, according to which the Republic of
Nagorno Karabakh should be independent. "The fair settlement of
the Karabakh conflict concerns not only the Armenians, who live
in Nagorno Karabakh, but also the national security of Armenia,"
Norayr Hovsephian said and added that one should not be afraid of
"becoming one nation and two countries," just on the contrary, one
should be able to make use of the positive sides of this circumstance.

In the opinion of Diana Khachatrian, the representative of Georgia
and a member of the World Armenian Congress, the importance of such
kinds of conferences, taking into consideration the experience of
developing countries, is to work out and implement programs which
will contribute to the future well-being of Armenian young people.

According to Pertch Sargisian, the representative of Syria and a
participant in the conference, the main goal of his participation
in the World Armenian Congress is to achieve desired success through
implementation of united work, as well as programs worked out at the
conference: this, in particular, concerns the fair settlement of the
    Armenian cause.
