NEW YORK'S MHER MKRTCHIAN COMPANY OF ACTORS TO PERFORM ON TOUR IN OCTOBER IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, JULY 12, NOYAN TAPAN. New York's Mher Mkrtchian company of
actors will perform on tour in Yerevan within the framework of the
events to be held in October in Yerevan on the occasion of the 60th
anniversary of the Tekeyan Cultural Union's foundation. As Vardan
Hovhannisian, the head of the company of actors, said at the July 12
press conference, "The Eastern Dentist," "Taxi, Taxi," and " Trap"
performances will be shown in Yerevan.
The company of actors founded in 1997 on the initiative of actress
Tamar Hovhannisian, in V. Hovhannisian's words, promotes rather a
successful activity. In his words, young actors have been included
in the group in the recent years, therefore, not only Armenian,
but also foreign youths go to see the performances.
V. Hovhannisian also said that during his visit an agreement has been
reached with the Tekeyan company of actors (former Nork theater)
on performing on tour in New York. The Tekeyan company of actors
will present the performance "Don't Look at the Mirror" of Perch
Zeytuntsian in New York, as well as Hrant Matevosian's "Autumn Sun"
staged very successfully. Aghun's brilliant performer, RA People's
Artist Violeta Gevorgian, who currently resides in the U.S., is likely
to take part in that performance.
