FULFILLMENT OF ONE OR ANOTHER REGIONAL PROJECTS NOT TO AFFECT KARABAKH SETTLEMENT PROCESS: ARMENIAN PARLIAMENTARIAN

Azerbaijan will refuse to prolong the agreement with Russia in 2012 on
operation of Gabala radar station, and the right for its operation will
be transferred to the USA which make great efforts in this direction,
deputy from the Republican party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan said at
today's press-conference.
He emphasized that the USA does not need the Gabala radar station,
which was built in 1980s per the Soviet technical standards and
does not fit in the air defense system of NATO and the USA, in
particular. He also said that implementation of one or another regional
projects, including the joint Azerbaijani- American operation of Gabala
radar station and construction of Baku-Ceyhan-Erzrum oil pipeline,
will not affect the process of Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement.
