    WEB SITE TELLING ABOUT JUDICIAL SYSTEM OF ARMENIA PRESENTED

    Web-site telling about the judicial system of Armenia, www.court.am ,
    was officially presented at the Library of the Armenian Court of
    Cassation, Wednesday. The web site is available in Armenian and
    English. It briefs on the judicial system of Armenia, in general,
    and on the Court of Cassation, Court of Appeal for Civil Cases and
    Court of Appeal for Economic Cases, as well as on the Economic Court
    and firs instance courts, in particular. One can get informed here
    of the structure, staff, functions and powers of the judicial bodies,
    as well as biography of judges and their photos. Moreover, the web site
    tells about the Justice Council, Council of Court Chairmen, Association
    of Judges, Judicial Department and Judicial School. Web site Library
    page presents judicial acts, acts of administrative bodies, decisions
    of the Council of Justice, application forms, documents of judicial
    practice, publications, Constitution of Armenia and laws. Important
    information page tells about how to access court and to appeal, as
    well as about judicial expenses. One can get additional information
    on the pages News and Proposals.

    Chairman of the Court of Cassation Hovhanness Manukyan said the web
    site aims to increase the transparency of the judicial system and
    public awareness. It will become an important source of information
    on the introduction of the institution of precedent into the judicial
    system of the country, the chairman said. He also added that the web
    site will become one of the most actively developing state information
    portals.

    The web site was created with the support of UN Development Programme
    and US Agency for International Development.
