NKR PRESIDENT MEETS WITH MEMBER OF EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

STEPANAKERT, July 19. /ARKA/. President of the Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic (NKR) Arkady Ghukasyan held a meeting in Stepanakert with
the member of the European Parliament Julietto Piezu, who is on an
observer mission to the NKR.
The NKR presidential press service reports that the sides pointed out
the importance of free and fair presidential election in the NKR for
the country's international reputation and democratic development.
President Ghukasyan thanked Julietto Piezu for accepting the invitation
to monitor the presidential election in the NKR, pointing out the
importance of the observer mission in ensuring transparent and
fair elections. He expressed the confidence that Artsakh will show
determination to consolidate its democratic achievements this time
as well.
Regular presidential election was held in the NKR on Thursday. Five
candidates were running for the NKR presidency: Bako Sahakyan, Masis
Mailyan, Armen Abgaryan, Vanya Avanesyan and Hrant Melkoumyan.
