ROBERT KOCHARIAN CONSIDERS NKR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS BRIGHT AND SUCCESSFUL

YEREVAN, JULY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. "The presidential elections held in
the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh, were bright and successful ones,"
Robert Kocharian, the RA President, stated in his conversation with
journalists on July 21. He stressed that there was no intervention
by the authorities of Armenia in the process of the electoral campaign.
As for the statements, according to which the July 19 presidential
elections held in the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh would not be
recognized by the world community, Robert Kocharian said: "Elections
are never held for other countries: neither for Brussels nor for
Washington and Moscow. People hold elections in order to organize their
lives. Even if they say that they do not recognize these elections,
organized democratic elections are already very serious steps on the
way to recognition".
