REGISTRATION OF PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEES STARTED IN NKR

The Presidential nominees' registration will be held in the NKR May
30-June 19, 2007.
According to the Nagorno-Karabagh Central Electoral Commission
Head Sergey Nasibian, in that period the Presidential nominees and
persons presenting them will be given certificates, the schedule of
the nominees' meetings with the voters will be worked out and the
nominees will present their election programs.
Pre-election agitation will be held June 20-July 17. Current
Presidential elections will be held in the Nagorno-Karabagh July 19.
Four initiative groups of the Presidential nominees have been
registered at the NKR CEC - Bako Sahakian (Head of the NKR National
Security Service), Masis Mailian (NKR Deputy FM), Armen Abgarian
(a deputy of the NKR National Assembly) and Vania Avanesian (a
lecturer at the Artsakh State University); the NKR Communist party
plenum has decided to propose the party leader Hrant Melkoumian as
a Presidential nominee.
