ARMENIAN PRESIDENT DISCUSSES DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES WITH OSCE CHIEF

Yerevan, 5 June: Armenian President Robert Kocharyan has
received a delegation led by the Spanish foreign minister and OSCE
chairman-in-office, Miguel Angel Moratinos, the Armenian presidential
service has told Arminfo.
Welcoming the OSCE chairman-in-office, President Robert Kocharyan
said that the organization was implementing interesting projects
in Armenia. Kocharyan said that the Karabakh problem was also being
settled within the framework of the OSCE.
For his part, Miguel Angel Moratinos shared his impression of
yesterday's meeting in Azerbaijan and reaffirmed the organization's
readiness to contribute to the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh
conflict. The sides also discussed the democratic reforms being
implemented in Armenia.
Moratinos believes that the progress which was observed in the past
parliamentary election [on 12 May] will strengthen democratic processes
in Armenia. The sides also noted the importance of opening embassies
in the capitals of the two states.
